A Drive Through Community Baby Shower will take place on Sept. 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eufaula, 400 Foley.
Participants who wish to take advantage of the program will need to register ahead of time. For information call 918-689-7505.
McIntosh County Coalition for a Healthy Community (McCoCo), a group of dedicated service providers from the area, are coming together to host this event.
This baby shower has been a cherished tradition, held every other year prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. “In the past we’ve held this event in person, and our community volunteers created decorative baskets including clothing and all kinds of goodies for families to take home for door prizes. They also decorated the event space with baby clothing and balloons. They pour their hearts into donating baby quilts, receiving blankets, and other handmade items like burp cloths or bibs. It’s incredibly heartwarming for new parents to feel the embrace of the community as they welcome their new babies,” said Dawn Edwards, Outreach Committee Chair for McCoco.
Everyone is invited to join in and support the community baby shower by generously donating the suggested items.
“Your kindness will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the families in our community. It really makes new parents feel like the community supports them and their new babies,” Edwards said.
