There’s nothing like the love of the game and the love of following your dreams. Checotah High School (CHS) senior Brian Love got to experience that love first hand as he celebrated with family, coaches and teammates at his recent signing to play for the Redhawks at Northeastern State University.
As everyone enjoyed refreshments, coaches and teammates commented on Brian’s commitment to the game and the team as a whole. Some of the accolades included “team player” and “true leader” and “committed captain.”
CHS head high school coach, Zac Ross, had this to say about his player: “Brian signed with Northeastern State University as a preferred walkon on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Brian was a two-year starter for Checotah and has been a great leader for our school and community. He was nominated as a captain for the past two years which says a lot about his leadership. We are very proud of Brian and are excited to see what he accomplishes in this next chapter of his life.” Family who joined Brian as he signed his letter of intent to play for NSU were his dad, John Reemts; mom, Ashley Love; step-dad, Danny Bonanno; little brothers, Madden Love and Braeden Reemts; little sister Evelyn Reemts; great grandpa, Hack Wadsworth; cousin, Susie Sallas; grandpa, Roy Reemts; grandparents,Tony and Lisa Love and his aunt, Amanda Hall.
