McIntosh County GOP News
By LYNELLE MEDLEY CHAIRMAN

What an exciting weekend McIntosh County GOP had at our Congressional District 2 meeting in Vian.

I was elected Congressional District 2 Chairman and our Pittsburg County counterpart, Loggan Winn, was elected as our Congressional District 2 Vice Chairman.

Loggan is a relative newcomer to our district but he is a stellar young man who has a servant leader heart. We have been working together on a number of projects, including the Anti-Wind Turbine fight as well as a variety of other initiatives. I am sure you will be hearing much from and about him in the coming years.

We had a great time at Old Settlers Day in Checotah and we engaged in many conversations with local patriots who proudly stand with us (and we with them). We were rained out but then that seems to be the order of the day these days, but it was still a lot of fun! We will also be at Whole Hawg Days so be on the lookout for our booth and please come visit us — we have goodies for the kids, and we have a master baker who comes up with some of the most delicious treats for your sweet tooth. As usual we often have Little Debbie’s wherever we go. It’s all free too!

We are busy making so many fun plans and are excited about each of them. We had a GREAT turnout at our free pulled pork (and fried chicken) dinner last Thursday night. The meeting was different than usual with several speakers who each had about ten minutes to share what they had to say. It was such a blessing to have our brand new Senator, Bryan Logan, on hand for the first time since he was sworn in June. I see so much integrity in him which was why McIntosh County GOP members fought so hard to help him get over the finish line.

We will be having a free cookout at a local lakeside pavilion — just waiting on being able to secure the date for later in the summer or perhaps even early Fall. We plan to invite everyone to join us for a last hurrah though it’s a bit early in the summer to be talking about it ending already! We are planning on hosting a gubernatorial forum with several of our surrounding counties, so please be watching for that. There are so many exciting things coming up and I am thankful for every single person who has been visiting us lately.

Let us know how we can help you or if we can answer any questions. We want to serve you in any way that we can.
