The Eufaula Ironheads traveled to Morris last Friday for the season’s first scrimmage. Although the quarterback position is still open with no definite player named yet. Koltyn Lane took a lot of the snaps. There are still several players that stood out. Senior Jax Hickman was a powerhouse on defense. He sliced through blocks and made multiple tackles for a loss. Freshman Asher Box was stellar on offense as he broke tackles and sprinted for long gains. Senior Luke Hodgins blasted through the defensive lines with his running style, scoring a touchdown. Gavin Holman looked fantastic at receiver.
Senior Cash French, Clayton Plunkett and Zayvion Price were solid in the defensive backfield and linebacker position along with Blayden Neill. Bradon Bratton was a force on the defensive line. Trevor Dodd was also productive on the line.
Starting running back Peter Lee is still on the IR list while recovering from hernia surgery as well as Doltyn Lane out with a shoulder issue.
Eufaula will host Warner Thursday, Aug. 28 for their next scrimmage with a starting time of 6 p.m.
