Alleged kidnapper arrested
A 23-year-old Albuquerque man who is alleged to have kidnapped a 13-year-old girl in North Carolina was arrested at a Checotah motel late Wednesday night.
Jacob Gardea faces possible charges in McIntosh County of sexual assault of a minor child.
He was scheduled to be arraigned in McIntosh County District Court at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
According to the FBI, the girl was found with Gardea in the America’s Best Value Inn, 122 W. Gentry at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the arrest, including the FBI, McIntosh County Sheriff’s Department, Checotah Police Department and others.
