Robert “Bob” Lee Wright
Robert “Bob” Lee Wright, lifelong Checotah resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in Checotah at the age of 87. He was born on Friday, May 27, 1932 to John Amos and Hattie Waldroop Wright in Fame, Oklahoma.
Bob retired from Boeing after 30 years.
He was an avid quail hunter who also enjoyed fishing.
He was a dedicated church member of First United Methodist Church in Checotah until his health failed. He especially loved working in the Methodist Mission. Being a grandfather brought him great joy and he was always willing to do anything with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill Wright. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Wilmatean Wright; his son, Bobby Wright and his wife Deanna of Tahlequah. Bob is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Lamb and her husband Jared of Coweta, Okla. and Colton Frank Wright of Edmond, Okla.; his great-grandchildren, Heston, Nolan, Judah and Ellie Rose all of Coweta as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bob was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Jones officiating.
