The McIntosh County Oklahoma Retired Educators Association, OREA, is having their first monthly meeting for the second semester 2019-2020. It will be Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m., at the Jim Lucas Library in Checotah. It will be the seventh annual Legislative Appreciation Meeting where all local elected officials are invited to attend. They will have an opportunity to speak to the retired school personnel and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions. Jeannie VanVeen, East Central District Director, will update members on local and state activities of OREA. All area retired school personnel are invited and encouraged to attend. You do not have to live in McIntosh County, nor do you have to be a teacher. Support personnel and administrators are more than welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
