City back in business after quarantine
The City of Checotah is beginning to look like a thriving tourist town again instead of a ghost town after being quarantined for weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses, parks and churches are slowly opening their doors as restrictions are being loosened up by the state. Though some CDC guidelines are still in effect and officials are asking for people to use caution and wear masks, not too many are complying or following these recommendations. Too many seem to have been cooped up for long enough and would rather take the risk by getting out than going stir-crazy by staying in.
