Local churches across Checotah invited all of the community to join together for a Community Prayer Service on Sunday, June 7 in Pocket Park. Ministers of all faiths, community leaders and people of all color came together to pray for the community, state and nation as riots and protests continue to erupt across the U.S. over the tragic killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man The service began with David Bright giving the welcome to the community and the opening prayer along with the introduction of the National Anthem, played by Jim Davis.
