Domestic violence doesn?t stop just because it?s raining outside. Often the storms outside are safer and easier to navigate than the storms that are raging inside of a domestic violent home. Those silent wars are generally bloody battles that only the survivors can live to tell the true tales of the twisted attacks driven to destroy the victims of domestic violence. These stories are their realities and the Domestic Violence Awakening Walk was held in their honor. For those who made it out alive, may their voices refuse to remain silent any longer and for those who didn?t make it out, may their memory live on and their stories be told so others might be saved from the storm that still rages - domestic violence.
