No longer just a survivor
?You are worthless, pathetic and yet I put up with you. No one else would even want you or want to look at you, but I put a roof over your head. I have to stomach you, though you make me sick.? These are only some of the words that battered women and men hear over and over again in a domestic violent relationship. These tormenting, relentless scenarios often make a partner go into survival mode that is fear-based and triggers the fight-or-flight mentality of the victim.
