Encouragement is a wonderful message to pass on to our youth of today. Nothing to me is more disheartening or ill felt than hearing adults in the stands yell at student-athletes on the basketball court or questioning every play and decision of the coach. Of course, coaches are adults and I would think that some folks would have enough dignity to talk to that coach face-to-face and discuss whatever issues one may think exists. However, when it comes to a child, who is giving their best effort, they should not have to hear so-called fans yelling negatives at them, which is wrong in my book.
