We?ve all gotten those calls about our extended vehicle warranty expiring or action needed on our non-existent student loan. Some spam calls, however, have an even more threatening tone, scaring people into believing they are in violation of not paying their taxes and are in imminent danger of being arrested. I?ve heard instances of older people being told their grandchild is in trouble, and they need to send money now to help them. Some people have lost thousands of dollars to telephone scams.
