Checotah Public Schools not only started classes this week, but also started a new pet therapy program this year with a precious pup, Lila, named affectionately after Lila Marshall. Lila is a Goldendoodle who is handled by CPS AWARE counselor Kendall Jones and she is already making a huge difference for school staff and students as they prepare to return to school. Lila has also been training around town by going to Walmart where she helped soothe an upset child and she has been seen frequently at downtown businesses saying hello to the public.
