Severe winds and heavy rains created havoc in many parts of McIntosh County Sunday, with downed limbs and trees. This row of downed lines was on Victor Road in the western part of the county. OG&E reported that more than 6,500 customers were without electricity for about two hours. Power was back on at most sites by 4:30 p.m. The main areas affected by the power outages were around Lake Eufaula and to the north, including Checotah, Eufaula, Duchess Landing and Shady Grove. Most of the tree damage was in the rural areas.
