City receives a $1.34 million loan for water system

This month the City of Checotah was given a $1.34 million loan through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) along with a $1 million principal forgiveness to replace Checotah?s eight-inch waterline that starts at South Street. Many Oklahoma water systems are older like Checotah?s water system and are looking for affordable financing options in order to construct needed drinking water system improvements necessary to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
