Thursday?s basketball action saw the end of the season for three area teams as both Checotah girls? and boys? teams fell at the Class 4A Area II at the Checotah Event Center and the Eufaula Ironheads lost to Vian at Roland in the Class 3A Area III. Victory Christian eliminated the Checotah Lady Wildcats 5233. Aiyanna Brewer led Checotah with 12 points. It was a competitive game as both teams played their hearts out in the first half. Victory outscored Checotah 14-5 in the first period as Brewer, Ruby Folkner and Hailey Prince combined for the five points but Checotah head coach Wes Cloud addressed his team and they came out the second period with determination.
