Bobby Lathrop, 70, of Richland, Texas, was critically injured in a motorboat accident at Graves Creek on Lake Eufaula on April 28.

Lathrop was transported to St. John’s, Tulsa with arm and hand injuries. The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on the lake one mile west and half a mile south of Hitchita in McIntosh County.

The victim was a passenger in a 2016 Xpress open boat operated by Guadalupe Villafranca, 66, of Crowley, Texas. Villafranca was not injured .

Passenger Charles Harris, 67, of Springtown, Texas, was not injured. According to a Marine Enforcement Division investigator the vessel was northbound at Graves Creek when it struck an underwater object causing the victim to fall over the bow.

The vessel continued over the top of the victim before the operator could shut off the motor.
