Rentiesville Post Office Closes Doors
When Lula Mae Miller locked the door to the Rentiesville Post Office on March 31, it was both an occasion to celebrate and an occasion for sadness.
For Miller, who has been the postmaster at Rentiesville for the past 10 years, it should have been an occasion to celebrate as she was retiring.
On the other hand, it was also an occasion for sadness as the March 31 closing marks the end of 94 years of service by that post office to the community of Rentiesville.
The post office opened on May 11, 1904.
