Kevin Stitt and his mini me, Ryan Walters, continue to make a mockery of democracy. Thinking they have some mandate from the hicks in the sticks who voted overwhelmingly for them, they commit daily atrocities against public education, free speech, freedom of choice and a host of other freedoms. In doing so, they reveal themselves as what they really are: fascists and terrorists. Tell me, who bans books? Fascists. Who burns books? Fascists.
Walters says the teachers union is a terrorist organization. I say that Walters is a terrorist and is being used by a group of right wing religious zealots from Hillsdale College, a Michigan school at the forefront of a national effort to shape public schools in the image of conservative evangelical parents.
But basically it boils down to this: Walters is a lost widdle boy who couldn’t serve at a fast food place much less Secretary of Education. Every time he stumbles when confronted with how he’s botching up his job, which is every day, he falls back on culture war issues. If anyone from his own party questions him, he attacks them with that old tried and true tactic of, well, you’re not a real conservative are you.
There is a place to learn about God. It’s called churches. Public schools are for education in everything else. I doubt seriously if either Stitt or Walters could pass an SAT right now.
Walters is a terrorist sympathizer in that he supports Trump, who tried and continues to try to destroy our democracy. If he and all the rest of his loud mouth ilk really knew anything they’d be trying to help teachers, not run them off. By calling them terrorists he’s placed a target on every public school and teacher in this state. Any and every drop of blood shed if one of his fellow terrorists tries to shoot up a school will be solely on his head.
All throughout history every dictatorship, monarchy, every authoritarian government had a religion on its side. This one is no different. Practically every House member in OKC can whip out a Bible and fire scriptures at you. But that don’t mean crap. It’s how you live that matters. And when you look at the way they live and speak they don’t have any right to tell anybody how to live.
But just like in every other country that has succumbed to religious authoritarianism Walters, Stitt and all the rest of these theocrats know that banning books is the first step to complete control of young minds.
They want to talk about indoctrination? They’re the indoctrinators. By soaking public education with extremist conservative religion they’ll create a generation of pliable mindless drones who, like them, won’t be good for anything but to shut up and march.
They both need to be impeached.
