This Thursday, May 25, the Checotah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is hosting a job fair/hiring event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We want future employees and healthcare workers to come and meet us,” Admin. Jeana Campbell said. “That’s why we are having a job fair/hiring event for local Checotah residents because we feel like it’s time that people start coming back to work in their hometowns. We need caring individuals who are committed to the care of locals who have lived in this area most of their lives, if not all their lives. but for some reason are unable to live on their own anymore.” Campbell believes COVID-19 put workers in a place where they felt like they needed to look outside their home area. It also got families out of the habit of visiting on a regular basis.
“We watched our local people who were certified to work in the healthcare industry go outside of their hometowns to find work and it hurt all of us. It stole family time for more driving time. It stole familiar faces who we knew all our lives. That’s why we see the need to get back to where we live, raise our families and work in the places that we love the most. This is our local hometown. “Checotah Nursing and Rehabilitation is not the product of a large city or corporation. Our facility is more like home because it’s small and centered not only on longterm patient care, but also on those who need a little extra help to get back home. With the right therapy services and families coming by for daily support we see patients improve quickly.
We also can send the right individuals for training which supports our local economy and school systems. Checotah Nursing and Rehabilitation is still on the hunt for those who have the heart and calling for this line of work. If you do, come see us.”
