Six-County Gospel Singing Convention
The Six-County Gospel Singing Convention will meet at the Free Will Baptist Church, 101 East Ute Street, Porum, OK, Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m. with singing from a recently published shaped-note songbook with a lot of new songs as well some older songs. The book is published by Dylan Feezell & Sam Wright from AL. Both of them are song leaders; pianists; and songwriters. Most of the singing will be congregational singing with a few special songs throughout the day. Singers & pianists are expected from OK, AR, TX and maybe other states. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Head Start is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Least of These Food Ministry has monthly distribution
The Least of These Food Ministry offers free grocery distributions to anyone in Checotah or the surrounding area who struggles with food insecurities. Participants must provide ID and proof of residency. Grocery distribution is the third Friday of each month at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God located at 401 N. Broadway.
