Checotah Public Schools has not one, but two new Ag teachers this year who are excited about implementing new growth and development.
Erica Goodson is thrilled to be a part of the new Checotah teaching team. Goodson is married to her husband, Austin. They have three children, Bodie, a full of life three-year-old boy, and twin girls, Frankie and Charlie, who were recently born on July 17.
Goodson has spent most of her teaching at Tulsa Webster Public Schools and is now looking forward to working at Checotah Public School in the agricultural program.
The other half of the dynamic duo is Zachary Ilbery, who was born and raised in Checotah. Ilbery is a 2016 Checotah graduate and most recentlytaughtatElmoreCity-Pernell Public Schools. He is eager and grateful to be back in his hometown doing what he loves most.
Ilbery and Goodson both have high expectations to see the growth and expansion of the Checotah Agricultural Education and FFA Program.
“Some of our goals for the program are to build strong community relations by being visible in the community with service learning projects,” Ilbery said. “We plan to provide engaging lessons and boundless opportunities for student growth and development in all areas, including Career Development events and Leadership Development events. We are eager to see where this year takes our FFA program.”
