2023 Eufaula Fast-Pitch Preview
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads are coming off a 20-11 record in 2022 and will return the majority of the team. Eufaula will be headed by coach Ryan Green and Jerad Efurd. The Lady Ironheads have been a unified team that can beat any team at any given moment. Senior Allie Anderson, Gabrielle Noriega and Kambry and Avery Williams. The Williams sisters are a great one-two punch at the plate as they follow each other in batting order.

Avery is a fantastic pitcher who has three shutout victories in Eufaula’s first five games.

She had 200 strikeouts in 2022 and a .373 average. Kambry is allusive and a great runner. Both are stealing bases specialists.

Noriega is a seasoned athlete that has tremendous power with the bat (.464) and a rocket arm at third base. Anderson is a utility player that can play nearly any position in the infield or outfield and is very productive at the plate.

The Lady Ironheads have several underclassmen that are very talented. Rayleigh Peterson is dynamite in a small package. The second baseman had a .368 average last season and she started this season right where she left off. She is quick and very intelligent in the game. Kate Pippenger is automatic at the plate. She is strong, fast and had .562 at the plate, along with 36 RBIs. Jadence Efurd is a slugger. She has multiple home runs along with Maddie Ballard. Both are tremendous players with lots of power. One of the most productive players is Kadie Jo Tidwell. She has a cannon for an arm and swings the bat with the best of them. Tidwell has made big plays defensively already this season with two big highlights against Spiro. Makayla Harjo is the slow pitch pitcher but a great student of the game.

The Lady Ironheads have some very talented freshmen on the roster this season – Abby Box, Briley Gragg, Hannah Beaver and Burkleigh Lange.

“We’re excited about this season. We had a great season last year but that’s behind us. We are focusing on the future and what we can do this season. I feel that we have a pretty solid team and some great freshmen coming up and competing. I feel that if we take care of what we can control and limit mistakes we should have a productive and exciting season,” Eufaula head coach Ryan Green said.
