Rival game breakdown

Rival game breakdown

There will be plenty of factors going into the 108th meeting between the Checotah Wildcats and the Eufaula Ironheads rival football game. Just the record alone tells you just how competitive this game can be with a 53-53-1 tie overall record. Let’s take a closer look.

Eufaula- -Checotah X QB X – Both teams have a quality quarterback however both are extremely different. Checotah has a traditional quarterback with a cannon arm and Eufaula has a fast-scrambling quarterback that can beat you with his feet.

X RB X – Edge goes to Eufaula. Peter Lee has lightning speed and great vision where as Kaden Mitchell is a power rusher that can get you those tough yards for a first down.

X WR X – Edge goes to Checotah. When you have the No. 1 ranked receiver in the state in Elijah Thomas you better take note. However, Eufaula is receiving by committee and between Maddox Bridges, Kaden Rice, Dresden Chiles, you can’t sleep on the Ironheads.

X Defensive Line X – Both of these teams are very close with the edge going to Eufaula with great rushers on the ends and solid nose guard and depth.

X Linebackers X – Both teams equal in this department. Both have solid production at this position.

X Defensive Back X – Equal. Until either team separates themselves on the field, I call this equal.

X Offensive Line – This goes to Eufaula just because they have more depth on the O-Line and have proven athletes in this unit.

Kick Returns X – This gives the edge to Checotah with Elijah Thomas already having multiple returns this year.

X Kicking Game – Goes to Eufaula. Bryan Lynn has been nearly perfect all season on field goal made and attempts.

No matter how you feel it’s going to be an exciting and historical game that will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.

1-2-3 break.
