The long-awaited splash pad is nearing completion. First proposed in 2020, the $563,445 project is being paid for by a federal grant of $281,722.50; $172,222 contribution by the city (which includes $25,500 in-kind match); $5,000 from the Eufaula Economic Development Authority; $32,500 from the Smith Foundation and $70,000 match from McQuay Construction; and several thousand dollars in donations from more than 90 other individuals and businesses.
