Members of the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met for “Opening Day” on Tuesday, September 12, at the home of Gretchen Payne to kick off the 2023-2024 year.
Present were sorority president Karen Harding and secretary Gretchen Payne, as well as members Karen Myers, Sally Meador, Carole Hayes, Kay Wall, Maura McDermott Wood, Vicki Sisson and Wilmatine Griffin. Absent were Shirley Davis, vice-president Kathe Smith and treasurer Gayle Johnson.
Sorority sisters enjoyed catching up with each other and planning activities for the coming year. They also enjoyed a variety of salads and snacks brought by members and a cake baked by co-hostess Karen Harding.
The theme for this year is “growing and blooming.”
Beta Sigma Phi International (ΒΣΦ) is a nonacademic sorority and an international women’s friendship network with 200,000 members in chapters around the world. It is the largest organization of its kind in the world.
The local chapter, #XP3902, has been meeting since 1977.
