Hayden and Dan Jeffries win Crappie Masters National Championship

The National Championship on Lake Eufaula in Eufaula, Oklahoma has come to an end! After three days of competition, $125,000.00 was awarded in cash and prizes! Taking home the third-place trophy and $6,200.00 with 35.19 pounds was the team of Kyler Beckman and Dillon Stocking! In Second with 35.19 pounds but winning the tiebreaker over third with a 2.78 big fish, the team of Lamar Bunting and Gene Neumeier will take home $12,000.00! In first with 35.92 pounds taking home $30,000.00 and winning back-to-back National Championships and also your 2023 Anglers of the Year Hayden and Dan Jeffries.

Checotah anglers Brian Young and Diesel Byrd placed seventh overall in their division with 23.04 pounds. They placed first in Adult Youth Division and first place in AOY Adult Youth Division and took home $3600 in prize money.

“It’s not every year that you have the National Championship on your home lake. We are blessed to live on one of the best crappie fishing lakes in the country. I’m very blessed to be able to spend time chasing trophies with my stepson. We have made some lifelong friends chasing these crappie all over the nation. I want to thank the Lord Jesus for giving us the opportunity to be together with our family and friends here at home. I want to thank all our sponsors for making this possible,” Brian Young of Checotah said. The tournament brought in anglers from across the nation to compete in one of the biggest fishing tournaments in the nation. The City of Eufaula benefited with the extra traffic in restaurants, hotels, fuel stations and grocery stores.
