The Green Machine is rolling down the road like a locomotive steaming down the railroad track. Eufaula head softball coach Ryan Green has led the Eufaula Lady Ironheads to the school’s first fast-pitch state tournament. Green and assistant coach Jerad Efurd have done a great job of development and extending the capabilities of their players. Just look at the Lady Ironheads records. This season they are 23-11, 20-11 in 2022 and 23-11 in 2021.
Green has built the softball program into one of the most successful and feared programs in eastern Oklahoma and has the players to do it with. The 2023 team consists of a great senior unit of Kambry and Avery Williams, Allie Anderson, Gabrielle Noriega and Adi McKinzie and Adyson Beaver – all doing their part for the good of the team.
In addition to the seniors, Green has a sensational group of underclassmen: Kate Pippenger, Rayleigh Peterson, Kadie Jo Tidwell, Madison Ballard, Hannah Beaver, Jadence Efurd, Briley Gragg, Abby Box and Burkleigh Lange.
Each of these athletes has above average talent and a skill set that would make any coach smile. As the season continues to go on for Eufaula so do the cheers and support of the Lady Ironheads’ fan base. This team has achieved something that has never happened at Eufaula and we (the community of Eufaula) will travel to Shawnee Thursday for the OSSAA State Tournament at Firelake Sports Complex. Let’s make history and support your local newspaper.
