The 2023 Angel Trees will be up on or before Thanksgiving weekend so people can take advantage of Black Friday sales.

The Checotah Lions Club encourages others to be “Santa” this year to a child who might not otherwise experience the joy of opening a gift on Christmas Day.

Participators can pick up an angel or two at one of the following locations: Atwood’s Armstrong Bank Fast Lanes Bowling First Family Credit Union Peoples National Bank Sharpes Walmart Gifts need to be returned, unwrapped, to the place where they were picked up by Dec. 10. Please leave the paper “Angel” with the child’s name on it on the gifts and securely attached.

“Angels will be selected from Marshall Elementary School and will include younger siblings this year,” Organizer and Lion Secretary Iris Park said. “In order to be more fair to the children, shoppers are asked to consider selecting two or more Angels’ if they plan on spending more than $100 on one child. Let’s spread the love around this year.”
