By VFW hosting Thanksgiving Dinner

Eufaula Lake VFW Post 8798 will host a Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Everyone is welcome. “We are so thankful for our veterans, our families and our community,” said Post members.

Perksgiving Extravaganza Book Fair Benefit

Nov. 24-27 At Perk Place Free pie and coffee! Start saving those cans!

Crafts at the Katy Depot plus Pictures with Santa

Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Enjoy some crafting fun and create a Rustic Rag Angel.

$20 per person for all craft supplies and finger foods. Seating is limited. RSVP to 918-473-2070.

Also bring a small donation to the Katy and your camera to snap a picture with St. Nick before he has to head back to the North Pole. All proceeds benefit the museum.

Christmas Music

The Williamsons will bring their Hope for the Holidays Tour 2023 to Deere’s Chapel Full Gospel Church at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3.

The church is four miles west of Eufaula on SH9.

Bring the whole family for a time of music and fun as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Christmas Concert & Coffee Shop

Dec. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the CHS Cafeteria Come join the Checotah Choir Dept. for hot drinks and treats for $1each;.

Then stay and enjoy some holiday music with the CHS Choir Dept.

Christmas Bingo Night

CHS Junior Class presents Christmas Bingo Night Dec. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the CHS Cafeteria Bingo Cards $5 or 5 for $20 Junior Class Fundraiser for JR/SR 2024 Prom

Mission’s Annual Christmas Sale

Checotah First United Methodist Church will host their Annual Christmas Sale Dec. 5-8 at 419 West Gentry Ave. Come find the perfect gift.

All proceeds benefit the Checotah Methodist Mission Food Pantry.

Methodist Church to feature Praise Orchestra

The Tulsa Praise Orchestra will be in concert at the Methodist Church in Eufaula at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. This is a big band of five saxophones, five trombones, five trumpets, full rhythm and singers.

The band is composed of professional musicians that perform free just to sustain the big band sound. It will be the best show in town that night.

Please plan to attend and bring a friend – it is open to all who come through the door.

Checotah Roughriders Annual Toy Drive underway

Collecting unwrapped, new toys from Nov. 1 – Dec. 4 Proceeds to benefit McIntosh County Elementary School Students Please drop off toys during regular business hours at: Checotah Medical Dispensary, 900 W. Gentry.

A Christmas Movie-Themed Lighted Parade is coming

Checotah’s Downtown Christmas Parade 2023 Monday evening, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.

Prize money for top three floats Please no Santas on any floats – Santa will be the finale!

A Vintage Christmas Downtown Checotah Open House

Dec. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All of Downtown will be open for fun and shopping.

Door prizes and Refreshments will be available.

Checotah Chamber of Commerce Residential Lighting & Business Lighting Competition coming

The Chamber will be giving away $600! Get your houses and businesses decorated.

Three lucky residential winners and one business winner will win.

Residential: 1st-$250, 2nd-$150 and 3rd-$100 Business: 1st-$100 Applications are due by Dec. 15 at the Chamber office, 114 N. Broadway.

Applicants must live in city limits.

Judging will be on Dec. 18 so make sure your lights are still on.

Winners will be announced on Dec. 20.
