The Eufaula Lady Ironheads continue to receive postseason accolades as Kambry (catcher) and Avery Williams (pitcher) signed their letters of intent as they made it official, committing to take their talents to Connors State College.

“I’m really excited that Kambry and Avery get to extend their softball careers and have signed to play at Connors! Any time one of our girls gets to go and play at the next level, (I believe this makes four since I’ve been coaching), it definitely shines a positive light on our program and these two will definitely show their teammates, coaches, and opponents what Eufaula Softball is all about,” Eufaula head coach Ryan Green said.

Both girls played a key role in leading Eufaula to a 23-13 record, placing 10th in the state and helped in making school history by going to the State Tournament.

Avery finished the fastpitch season batting .462 avg, 22 RBIs, 43 H, 10 2B, 2 3B, 27 BB, 31 SB and .583 OBP.

Pitching- 23-13, 1.86 ERA, 173 K’s, 12 shutouts, 2 No-Hitters, 562 career strikeouts.

Kambry finished with batting. 424 avg, 28 RBIs, 39 h, 12 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 24 BB, 22 SB and .542 OBP.

Both girls have the athleticism and talent to play nearly any position on the field. Both are highly competitive, strong and can swing the bat with the best of them.

“Kam and Ave have played this game competitively since they were eight years old. They started their career with a group of girls that brought so much to the team individually, but more importantly they each played selflessly.”

This has been a foundation piece that both girls carry and were able to bring that to EHS softball.

With Coach Green carrying that same type of mindset in his coaching style, and having a team willing to buy in, it has all played part in the success of the program.

“I have always trusted that God would guide them in the right direction. They are both God fearing women and I know that they will continue to follow him and trust him as well. Their dad and I are both very proud of them and cannot wait to be able to watch them play at the collegiate level,” said their mother Tina Williams.
