The Community Thanksgiving Dinner may have seemed small to some but was greatly appreciated by all. Several locals enjoyed a free holiday meal with all the fixings and some good fellowship.
Owner of TNT Power Washing LLC, Tim Rice, along with his wife, Kristy Rice and sister, Kim Codner, showed their appreciation to their hometown by serving a Thanksgiving Dinner to anyone who wanted to come on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Checotah Senior Community Center.
“I know a lot more people need help now days and so we just wanted to bless our little community,” Tim said.
All the food was prepared by Watsons Meat Market and desserts were donated by Karen Hyatt.
Freedom House la-dies also helped serve the dinner.
Tim lost his mom, Beverly Ann Barrow, earlier this year and felt like he needed to pick up her mantle to help others in the local area, which is just what he did.
“I think she would be proud of us carrying on her legacy of love. Of course, I have the help of a wonderful family and a community of friends that I am forever thankful for also.”
