Local man follows his calling
By LADONNA RHODES STAFF WRITER

Feeding people physically and spiritually

This month local Dakota Daniels, along with help from Faith Church, fed 140 people after he kept having the urgency to help those in need. Now he believes it is his calling and he has started Moving Love Ministries.

“For a while a friend, Glen Creekmore, kept asking me to come to his church, and even though I had been hurt in the past I decided to go and that’s when I really felt convicted to help those that are in need. Glen had told me a lot of people talk about doing something but then they don’t follow through and do anything. I’ve been attending services for about six months now and I didn’t want to be just a hearer of the Word. I wanted to be a doer of the Word and His Word says ‘Feed my sheep.’ So I told my wife that’s what I’m going to do and glory to God we started doing it this month.”

The first meal that Daniels fed the community was a spaghetti dinner and the church was gracious to let them use their facilities. Daniels even went door to door with some meals so all the food was given out.

“We wanted to make sure anyone who wanted to come eat and just have fellowship was welcome to come. There are no restrictions and no income guidelines just come as you are. We want others to know the love of Christ and to enjoy the fellowship and the free food.”

Daniels hopes to have a free monthly meal at the end of each month when he knows food runs short for a lot of people in the area. However, he also knows that to keep this going he will need people to partner with him and he hopes other organizations and churches will be a part of the solution.

“There’s a huge need in our community to feed souls physically and spiritually, so I ‘m just trying to do my part and if we all do our part then we will truly ‘feed His sheep.’ Feeding those in need is just the beginning though. My end goal is to help have a homeless shelter where there’s food, shelter and they can feel His love. It’s all about building a relationship with Him and building up a community in need. I know we can do it if we pull together and work together for His glory.”

With cold weather coming into Oklahoma Moving Love Ministries is looking for donations to help the less fortunate stay warm and keep their bellies full. They are looking for donations of coats, jackets, blankets, canned goods and other nonperishable food items. Any and all donations will be used for a monthly free community dinner and for supplies to be passed out to those in need.

Proverbs 19:17 states “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”

If you know anyone in need of assistance or if you can help donate please contact Dakota Daniels at 918-6172983. There is also a CashApp at $MovingLoveMIN that you can donate directly to.
