MUSKOGEE – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Austin Jae Brown, age 24, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for enticement and sexual abuse of a minor. Brown will be placed on a 15-year term of supervised release following his term of imprisonment and will be required to register as a sex offender.

The charge arose from investigations by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On December 9, 2022, Brown pleaded guilty to two counts of enticement and one count of sexual abuse of a minor. The defendant used the internet to compel two minor victims to provide child sexual abuse materials to him and engaged in sexual acts with one of the minor victims.

The Honorable Jodi W. Dishman, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, sitting by assignment, presided over the hearings in Oklahoma City. Brown will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-parolable sentence of incarceration.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
