Performing and Arts Club celebrated Christinas with a play

The Eufaula Performing and Arts Club concluded a week-long series of performances of “5 Ways to Survive the Holidays” across four different venues.

The heartwarming play, written by Don Zolidis and directed by Selina Jayne-Dornan, brought laughter, entertainment and celebration of the holiday spirit to the community, all without an admission charge.

The talented cast featured Eden Boggs, Sarah Brown, JulieAnn Farrow, Hannah Kennedy, Emersyn Long, Charles Matney, Chloe Michener, Kenadee Roberts and Aleuya Wise, who captivated audiences with their exceptional performances.

The play premiered at the Chamber of Commerce building during Eufaula Area Arts Council’s annual Christmas gathering and public meal. Subsequent performances took place at Eufaula Manor Nursing and Rehab Center, the Eufaula Memorial Library and concluded at the Jim Lucas Public Library in Checotah.

A special thanks goes to the dedicated helpers, including Carolyn Dean, Naomi Kennedy, Glenna McBride and Michelle White, who contributed to the success of the performances.

The Eufaula Area Arts Council is committed to weave the arts into the community for growth and enjoyment, proudly supports the Eufaula Performing and Arts Club as part of its educational mission.

Glenna McBride, the founding director, said, “We provide arts experiences with substantial learning opportunities and Eufaula Performing and Arts Club’s goals fit our mission.”

Looking ahead, the club is set for a new adventure in January as they head to Tulsa to experience the professional play called “Hairspray” at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

These performances and trips are made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Eufaula Area Arts Council by showcasing this community’s commitment to the arts.

Additionally, the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation is honored to join as a sponsor, who is committed to enrich-ing the lives of the residents in and near the Eufaula area through vibrant cultural events.

For more information contact the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce by phone at 918-689-2791 or by email at news@eufaulaareaarts. org. The Eufaula Performing and Arts Club meets every 3rd Monday at 4 p.m. at the Eufaula Trinity Episcopal Church.
