Looking for something to fill the cold, dreary days of winter? The Checotah Art Guild is holding a “Scratch Art” class on Saturday, January 20 at 10AM – 12PM at the Heartland Heritage Museum & Gallery, 116 N. Broadway, Checotah.
Artist Marsha Danner, a CAG member with extensive experience in all types of art, will be teaching the “Scratch Art” class. Attendees can bring a picture they want to portray or use something provided by the artist. Guests will learn how to transfer their picture onto a “blackened board” and “scratch off” the unwanted areas to create a beautiful black and white work of art. CAG members will also be on hand to help attendees become successful artists if any need help.
Each attendee will be provided with all the items needed to complete their piece. The cost for the class is $10 for CAG members, $20 for non-members. Bring a friend and both will get in for $25.
It will be fun, entertaining and educational.
Guests are invited to join the Checotah Art Guild for $25 a year. The Guild holds ‘Open Art’ every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1PM – 3:30PM at the Gallery. Artists bring whatever they are working on at the time and enjoy a productive few hours while getting acquainted with other artists.
