Selby Minner from the Blues Club/Hall of Fame in Rentiesville is gearing up to start doing free lessons every week for the next ten weeks locally at the Checotah and Eufaula Public libraries.

Classes began Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library and starting Thursday, Jan. 18 classes will begin at Eufaula Memorial Library.

Sessions start at 4 p.m. and beginners are the first fortyfive minutes with a break and then intermediates afterwards. If you need to borrow a guitar from the library, go to the Checotah library, and if you have a card, you can check out a guitar and take it home just like a book.

“We keep it fun,” Minner said. “We start with one finger chords and soon I will have you playing ‘Rock Around The Clock’ with one finger by the second week of class!”
