Broadway Trees still needing attention

Any organization or business that has not cleared decorations and lights off their Broadway Trees are asked to please do so as soon as possible per Mike Key. Thank you.

Retired Teachers to meet Feb. 9

The McIntosh County Retired Teachers and Support Personnel will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library. All retired school personnel are encouraged to attend. For more information contact Imogene Duvall at 918473-2781.

Free guitar lessons at the library

Free guitar lessons with Selby Minner are currently going on at the Checotah Jim Lucas Library every Thursday at 4 p.m. Classes will run for several more weeks.

Lions Club meets biweekly

The Checotah Lions Club general meetings are at noon on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. Lions meet at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and would like to invite others to come join the Lions Club and help serve your community. Texanna Lady Crafters

The Texanna Lady Crafters shop is located right across from Dawn’s Café on Texanna Road. Open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Look for the Butterfly board and the little green alien in front of our store. Stop by and take a picture with your family. It’s free.

DAV McIntosh County Chapter #3 meets monthly

The DAV McIntosh County Chapter #3 meets the first Thursday of each month, at 11092 S. 4184 Rd., Checotah (1/2 mile west of Onapa Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. Come be a part of the Disabled American Veterans organization. For more information contact Andy Killingsworth at 918-781-9752.

Green County Cattlewomen meets monthly

The Green County Cattlewomen meets the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at Watson Farms Meat Market in Checotah. For more information or to join, call 918-616-2526.

Least of These Food Ministry has monthly distribution

The Least of These Food Ministry offers free grocery distributions to anyone in Checotah or the surrounding area who struggles with food insecurities. Participants must provide ID and proof of residency. Grocery distribution is the third Friday of each month at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God located at 401 N. Broadway.

Join the Chamber of Commerce General Meetings

The Checotah Chamber of Commerce General Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at noon at the First United Methodist Hall. All Chamber members are encouraged to come.

Free training for caregivers and services for seniors

Are you caring for someone 60 years of age or older and wanting to learn how to be a better caregiver? Get free “Caregiver Training” classes. Ask about respite vouchers.
