Season ends for Eufaula Lady Ironheads
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

The No.14 ranked Eufaula Lady Ironheads (16-10) saw their season come to an end in area play at Ada on Thursday. The Lindsay Lady Jaguars rallied from only scoring two points in the second period to defeating Eufaula with a 3726 victory. Forward Jadence Efurd, who played outstanding in the paint as she grabbed several key rebounds and made some shots on offense, led Eufaula.

With just a slight lead going into the halftime break Eufaula needed a shot in the arm, which they never received. The Lady Jags began chipping away at the lead while Efurd picked three fouls in the first four minutes of the third period.

Senior Jordas McClish returned to the court after a long hiatus from the game with a leg injury. McClish played some valuable minutes and contributed defensively.

Allie Anderson, who had a good first half against the Jags, began to get shut down by the Lindsay defense.

Meanwhile the momentum had switched and Lindsay began to take advantage of it as they quickly moved the ball up court against the Lady Ironheads full court defense. Kambry Williams, Kate Pippenger and Maddie Ballard did everything they could to block the shooting lanes of the Lady Jags or battle for position for defensive rebounds but struggled.

Lindsay took over the game in the middle of the fourth period as they forced Eufaula to foul them, sending the Jags to the free throw line.

Lindsay’s five-point lead soon turned into ten points and the body language of the Eufaula Lady Ironheads was evident and soon the horn sounded the end of the game and the end of the Lady Ironheads season.
