Sixth grader wins Spelling Bee

Checotah Middle School held an exciting Spelling Bee last week with some of their top spellers. Students in 6th through 8th grade competed against each other for the title of Champion Speller.

When the last word was spelled correctly only one student was left standing but two had earned the right to compete at the Eastern Oklahoma State Spelling Bee. Sixth grader Kambria Miller was the champion and seventh grader Makynlee Crawford took runner-up.

These top two students competed against the top spellers of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. On April 26 they will compete at the 14th Annual Eastern Oklahoma State Spelling Bee Event held at the Muskogee Civic Center.
