Larry L. Blood of Checotah, 78, entered into the arms of Jesus on Feb. 20, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Larry was born to Orval & Reba (Watson) Blood in Sapulpa, OK on July 10, 1945. He was raised in Sanger, CA where he graduated from Reedley High School.
After graduating Larry moved to the Los Angeles area where he met the love of his life, Claralee (Pierson) on July 1, 1967. Knowing that she was the only girl for him, Larry proposed July 11, 1967 and they married July 21, 1967.
Larry worked for a corrugated box factory for over 40 years. He also owned/operated his own dojo as well as a restaurant, remodeled homes and was a real estate agent.
Larry held many black belts in various martial arts styles.
After retirement, Larry moved his family to Checotah, OK in 2005 where he enjoyed caring for his ranch, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Claralee, of their home; daughter Tamatha Holley (Christopher) of Checotah; son Larry Jr. (Patricia) of Checotah; daughter Kimberly Given-Meeks of Checotah; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; brother Garry (Constance) of CA; sister Janit Dhillon (John) of Idaho; brother Parry of Oregon; and many extended family members and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his daughter Dwan Blood-Koelliker; son-in-law Van Foust and two grandchildren, Shane and Kaycie Blood.
A memorial service for Larry will be held March 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at his home church, Texanna Assembly of God in Checotah. His pastor and dear friend Tim Allen will officiate the service.
