Eufaula Lady Ironheads Golfers win three straight tournaments
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

Boys team on a roll

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads golf team has won three straight tournaments coming out on top in the Muldrow, Seminole and Canadian tournaments. Eufaula placed first at the Jimmie Austin Tournament in Seminole with a score of 415 followed by Oklahoma Christian 445 and Seminole 460 to round out the top three teams. At Muldrow Eufaula finished with a team score of 395 followed by Muldrow 420 and Poteau 432. On Wednesday Eufaula won the Canadian tournament at Arrowhead with a score of 395 followed by Oktaha 439, Poteau 448, Stigler 476 and Checotah placed 5th with a score of 477.

Eufaula’s girls team consist of Rylee Mc-Neill, Gracie Burke, Rhyatt Dunn, Gracie Lasiter, Jadence Efurd and Eula Chapman. All are very skilled and led by senior Gracie Lasiter who signed with Seminole State University. Lasiter placed third at Seminole and “I’ve witnessed firsthand the success of our team on the golf course. As my final season for the Lady Ironheads is leading off, I am more appreciative of our underclassmen than ever. When the pressure is on and I’m not playing my best, it’s reassuring that our team operates as a unit. In golf, as in life, there are moments when someone can always step up to the plate and deliver, ensuring that together, we achieve the goals we have set out. It’s a collective effort, dedication, and commitment that has defined our success as the Lady Ironheads,” Eufaula senior Gracie-Jane Lasiter said.

The Eufaula boys team placed third at the Muldrow event. The team consists of Jax Hickman, Drake Sutherland, Trent Montgomery, Gavin Watkins, Andrew Robinson and Cody McNeill.
