Ironheads and Wildcats compete in Regional Track Meet

The Class 3A and 4A Regional qualifier was moved to Oklahoma Baptist University on Monday after storms forced officials to move the meet to Monday. It was a beautiful day for Track and Field athletes. Both Eufaula and Checotah had athletes make the cut for the State tournament this Friday and Saturday at Catoosa High School.

The Ironheads will participate in the 100-meter dash and the 4×100 and 4×200 at the state track meet.

Ledger Folsom of Eufaula qualified for state in the 3A 100-meter dash after placing sixth with a time of 11.35. Barron Mac Donald of Luther won the event with a time of 11.07.

Elijah Thomas of Checotah won the Class 4A 100-meter dash with a time of 10.95 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.19 to punch his ticket to state.

Jaxon Jones placed 19th with a time of 11.85.

Maddox Bridges placed seventh in the Class 3A 200-meter dash with a time of 23.97 and Peter Lee placed 15th with a time of 24.64.

In the Class 3A 400-meter dash Gerald Colenutt placed 20th, Cayden Moore 23rd and Collin Epley placed 26th for Eufaula. For Checotah in the Class 4A 400-meter dash Tyler Orman placed 15th, Shooter Eagleburger 21st, and Brian Love 27th.

Class 3A 800-meter dash – Richie Beaver placed 12th and Collin Epley 25th. Class 4A – Landynn Thomason placed 17th, Jaidyn Wolfe 20th place and Baylor Carter placed 28th.

4A 1600-meter run Izayah Tyde placed 16th,

3A 3200-run

3A Boys 300-meter hurdles – Dacen Hunter of Eufaula placed 12th 45.18 and Checotah’s Jaidyn Wolfe placed 13th in the Class 4A 300-meter hurdles.

Eufaula 4×100 will go to state after placing 3rd with a time of 44.63.

4A Boys 4×100 – Checotah placed 10th with a time of 46.80. Eufaula placed third in the 4×200 and Checotah placed 9th in the 9th in the Class 4A 4×200. The Wildcats placed 8th in the 4×400 with a time of 3:39.47 and in the 4×800.

Dacen Hunter placed 13th in the high jump and Tyler Orman placed 6th. Elijah Thomas made state by winning the Class 4A long jump with a jump of 22-10.50 feet.

Jason Hill of Eufaula placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 3901.00 feet.

In the girls events; Heidi Singleton placed 18th in the 100-meter dash and Emma Lovett placed 23rd. Abby Charleton placed 11th and Kelsey Burns placed 22nd in the 200-meter dash.

In the Class 4A dash Nikia Carr placed 16th with a time of 28.56. Abby Charleton placed 8th in the Class 3A 400-meter dash. Nikia Carr placed 7th in the 400-meter dash.

800-meter run – Eufaula’s Kaylyn Holman placed 16th and in the Class 4A Emmalie Madding placed 27th.

Class 3A 3200 run – Jule Schweda placed 10th with a time of 15:10.19 and in the 4A event Ruby Folkner placed 9th with a time of 14:31.97 and Ruthy Folkner placed 13th with atime of 15:15.40.

In the Class 4A 300-meter hurdles Katelyn West placed 4th with a time of 47.52 seconds to punch her ticket to state. In the 4×100 Checotah placed 8th with a time of 55.30 and 9th place in the 4×200 with a time of 1:59.56.
