FFA Chapters and members from all over Oklahoma wrapped up their year at the State FFA Convention in Tulsa. Several Checotah FFA members attended the State FFA Convention.
“This year Checotah FFA Members moved up a level to a Three Star Bronze Level Chapter for the foundation chapter trust program,” FFA educator Zachary Ilbery said. “I just couldn’t be prouder of this group of students and all their accomplishments this year. They did an amazing job,” FFA member Trey Anderson and Mr. Ilbery attended the foundation luncheon. Chap-ter Treasurer Dalton Johnson and Reporter Chayda Carpenter walked across the stage and received their award plaques.
Dalton Johnson, Ryan Miles, Rocky Sallee-Hicks, and Karson Hiser (represented by Larry Burton) all received their State FFA Degrees, the highest degree one can receive on the state level. Rocky Sallee-Hicks also signed with Connors State College and is committed to Agricultural Education in hopes to become an ag teacher in the future.
Member, Kharma Harmon, applied and was accepted into the State FFA Choir.
“These kids rounded out their convention trip with a well-deserved trip to the Gathering Place,’ Ilbery said. “Congratulations to all of these kids on an outstanding year!”
FFA officers and members finished their year with the Checotah FFA Banquet held Tuesday night at the Checotah Agriculture Education Animal Science Building where dinner was served.
