On August 8, Checotah Perk held the first Young Entrepreneur Day.
“We had nine kiddos participate in this first event,” Organizer Julie LaRue said. “They all made items to sell and one young lady even entertained with her violin skills. I have had so much joy brought to me by this event with all the kids telling me what they have made or how they were going to decorate their tables, etc. We had so much fun and hope to get even bigger next time.”
LaRue hopes more of the community will come out and treat themselves to goodies made by some of the youth in the community.
The young entrepreneurs made baked goods, canned goods, and handmade jewelry, along with arts and crafts. They raised these funds for their school supplies, and extracurricular interest and special interests.
Their next event will be October 12. Time will be announced at later date.
LaRue hopes more children will get involved and join this young group of adventurous entrepreneurs as they live out their dreams and ideas.
LaRue can be contacted via messenger on social media or those interested can stop by the Perk for more information.
