When you talk about being an Ironhead, the toughness, physicality and power, no-one exemplifies this more than senior linebacker Bryan Lynn. Lynn has earned the nickname of Rudy, after Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger of Notre Dame lore because like Ruettiger, Lynn is all over the field, making bonecrunching tackles from sideline to sideline just like Ruettiger. Lynn is a special kind of football player and though he may not be the biggest player on the field, his effort is high as a mountain.

Eufaula head coach Larry Newton is no stranger to underestimated athletes. Newton has developed multiple linebackers like Matt Clover, Kaden Bumgarner, Devon Seirs and others that could knock your block off.

A huge smile comes over the face of Lynn every time he hears someone call him ’’Rudy.”

“I take pride in my nickname because it shows me that the work I put on the field is noticed,” Bryan Lynn said.

Lynn also had some comments on Friday night’s game against Checotah.

“I expect to play to my best potential Friday night. This will be the last game of high school football I will play and it’s rivalry week,” Lynn added.

What Lynn loves most about playing linebacker is that he is in the center of the defense, calling out what information the Ironheads should be in and of course the amount of hard contact he makes. He has already knocked two opponents out of football games this season and his leadership is what makes him a team captain and the epitome of what it means to be an Ironhead.

Bryan is the son of Chad and Amanda Lynn of Eufaula.
