Haltom’s Huddle Food Drive
Haltom’s Huddle will be collecting canned goods until Dec. 15.
Haltom is asking for the support of both communities to help with local charities to get food to those in need this holiday season.
Drop off the goods to the local newspaper office, the McIntosh County Democrat or the Eufaula Indian Journal and local charities in Checotah and Eufaula will receive all the cans and goods collected the week before Christmas.
GriefShare program, Surviving the Holidays The GriefShare program, “Surviving the Holidays” video helps grievers to find strength, healing and tools to move forward in their daily walk through the deep pain of grief.
This free program will be offered and open to the public on Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Checotah First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Please enter through the East door.
Angel Trees out around town
The Lions Club Angel Trees are out.
Pick up an angel for a child who might not experience the joy of Christmas.

A Golden Christmas for local nursing home residents
To benefit residents at Checotah Nursing & Rehabilitation Sponsored by the Checotah Art Guild Select an angel from the tree located at the Heartland Heritage Museum & Gallery.
Purchase and return unwrapped items with angel attached by Dec. 18.

Jump into the holiday spirit this year by decorating your home or business with the best Christmas lights and décor. Judging will be held on Dec. 17 so keep those lights on.
