Important election deadlines approaching

City general elections in Checotah and Eufaula April 1 For the Feb. 11 Special Election of the City of Eufaula, early voting will be held on Thursday, February 6 and Friday, Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the County Election Board office. There is no early voting on Saturday for this election.

Polling places will be open on Feb. 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Only voters whoareregistered at an address within the municipal limits are eligible to vote in this élection. Sample ballots may be viewed at oklahoma.gov/elections/ ovp or on the Facebook social media page of the Mc-Intosh County Election Board.

For the March 4 Special Primary Election for Senate District #8, the voter registration deadline is Feb. 7. Applications for voter registration must be received by the County Election Board or postmarked no later than midnight, Feb. 7.

Registered voters who have moved to Mc-Intosh County from a different county or state will need to complete a new Voter Registration Application to be eligible for elections in McIntosh County.

If you have moved within the county and need to update your address, you may make changes online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ ovp or complete a Voter Registration Application downloaded from the State Election Board website or at the County Election Board office.

For the April 1 Municipal General Elections, candidate filing is Feb, 3-5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the County Election Board office.

Declarations of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the State Election Board website at oklahoma. gov/elections. In addition to the Declaration of Candidacy, candidates must also submit a Voter Registration Verification Form which can be obtained from the County Election Board or by logging in to the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma. gov/elections/ ovp.

Information on the Voter Registration Verification Form must match the information provided on the Declaration of Candidacy. Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:

City of Checotah

– City Clerk/Treasurer (term expires 2029) – Council Member Ward 1 (term expires 2029) – Council Member Ward 2 (term expires 2029) – Council Member Ward 3 (term expires 2029) – Council Member Ward 4 (term expires 2029) City of Eufaula

– Council Member Ward I (remainder of four year unexpired term, expires 2027) – Council Member Ward II (remainder of four year unexpired term, expires 2027) – Council Member Ward III (four year term, expires 2029) – Council Member Ward IV (four year term, expires 2029) – Council Member at Large (four year term, expires 2029) The McIntosh County Election Board is located at 110 N 1st Street, Eufaula. Regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, although the office is open extended hours during elections or candidate filing periods. No Notary is available after 4 p.m.
