DEATH NOTICES

CHECOTAH -Janice Sue Tallon, 78, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at her home. A Celebration of Life was held at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, Feb. 15.

EUFAULA – Anna Louise “Lou” Melton, 88, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, February 28 at 2 p.m.

EUFAULA -JoAnn Booth, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on February 14, 2025. Services were held Tuesday, February 25 at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory inEufaula.

MUSKOGEE -Giovanni Bellafiore, 83, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. No services planned.

EUFAULA – Debra Ann Burleson, 63, passed away on February 15, 2025. No services planned at this time.

CHECOTAH – Johnny Daniel Sorrells, 68, affectionately known as “Guitar Man,” passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025. There are no events scheduled at this time.

CHECOTAH – Virginia June Chulufas, 89, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial services were held on Friday, February 21 at Calvary Baptist Church.

CHECOTAH – Edward W. “Popz” Eickhoff, 87, passed away Monday evening, February 17, 2025. A family conducted Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

CHECOTAH – Curtis Dee Whisenhunt, 94, passed away at his home in Checotah, OK, surrounded by his loving family and entered his heavenly home on Friday, February 21, 2025. A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 26 at Texanna Assembly Of God.

CHECOTAH – Michael Lewis Turner, passed away Feb. 21, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory, Thursday, February 27 at 1 p.m.

EUFAULA – Kimberly Kay Wise, 64, passed from this life on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at her home in Eufaula. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m. at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory in Eufaula.
